In this role you will report directly to the Head of Technology, Records, and Reporting to lead a team as well as direct the information and data governance strategy for the department worldwide. You will deliver results by closely partnering with the senior leadership, Apple attorneys, legal assistants and staff, security personnel and several cross functional teams, including Privacy, IS&T, Finance/Tax, and the People team.

The Legal and Global Security Operations team is seeking an Information Governance Manager to own the responsibility of updating and improving the global enterprise-wide Records and Information Management (RIM) Program. You will have a unique opportunity to enhance our electronic records management strategy and framework enterprise-wide. We are looking for an experienced individual who will work closely with cross-functional partners, including Privacy, Tax, IS&T and others, to develop a data governance roadmap through a deep understanding of the relevant regulatory and policy landscape and the evolving business requirements for enterprise data governance needs. You will partner closely with legal personnel to implement process efficiencies and drive development of world-class processes.
*Ensure the creation and execution of cutting edge processes and tools related to data governance and the implementation of a program meant to ensure data quality and trustworthiness.
*Facilitate and coordinate data owners, data stewards and privacy champions in multiple business units and departments throughout the company.
*Recruit, train and guide business unit Record and Information Management (RIM) coordinators on record-keeping and retention procedures and requirements.
*Review, evaluate and enhance existing global records retention schedules and policies to align with Apple’s legal and compliance obligations and operational needs and develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive approach to data retention.
*Provide direction to teams across Apple on specific data retention and records information needs and advise on the appropriate balance between what may be viewed as often competing legal obligations
*Act as final reviewer and administrator for enterprise-wide master data management and metadata management efforts (data definitions, processes, tools, strategy, etc.)
*Partner with IS&T and Legal Technology teams to find opportunities for process automation and technological solutions for records management.
*Work with appropriate partners to further develop and grow our culture that manages information as an enterprise asset.
*Apply creative problem-solving skills efforts in a way that satisfies business leaders’ needs and lays the groundwork for future successes
*Demonstrated ability to influence key partners and establish a change management and transformation framework, including a new cross-functional governance approach.
